Conditioned air is offered beneath the floor and dispersed upward into the room through often spaced diffuser tiles, blowers or via ducts directed into particular equipment. Automatic fireplace safety shutoffs may be required for underfloor air flow, and additional suppression systems may be put in in case of underfloor fires. I even have searched fairly a bit and can't find anything within the ADA guidelines that specify the peak of the door gap beneath the door.

• Where outside air supplies are separated from exhaust factors by doorways, provisions shall be made to make sure air circulate by set up of distribution ducts, undercutting doors, installation of grilles, transoms, or comparable means.
• Doors shall be undercut to a minimal of half of inch above the surface of the end ground covering.
• Building air pressure relationships must be managed between indoor spaces and outside and between spaces to reduce the circulate of warm, humid air in direction of cold surfaces.
• Effective management of condensation requires careful design of constructing assemblies and heating, air flow and air-conditioning methods.
• Each liveable area shall be supplied with outdoor air inlets or operable home windows with an openable area not lower than 4 square inches of net free area of opening for every 10 cfm of outdoor air required by Table M1507.three.3.

This affects and is affected by the design of both the enclosure and the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system. Continuous air barriers should be designed and maintained to attenuate infiltration of chilly or hot, humid outside air into constructing assemblies or inside areas.

The foundation partitions may be made from stone, brick, concrete, or concrete blocks. The exterior must be moisture proofed with both a membrane of waterproof material or a coating of portland cement mortar. The membrane could consist of plastic sheeting or a sandwich of normal roofing felt joined and coated with tar or asphalt. Common walls separating townhouses shall be assigned a fireplace-resistance rating in accordance with Section R302.2, Item 1 or 2. The frequent wall shared by two townhouses shall be constructed without plumbing or mechanical gear, ducts or vents within the cavity of the frequent wall. The wall shall be rated for fire publicity from each side and shall prolong to and be tight in opposition to exterior partitions and the underside of the roof sheathing.

Generally, exhaust systems are interlocked with a devoted make-up air system. Houses situated in flood zones may be required to have flood vents. Flood vents are openings in a basis wall that automatically enable the free passage of flood water into and out of a basis to equalize hydrostatic forces on the inspiration walls.
